Originally a Frankenswitch
The Holy Panda is now one of the most popular switches on the market.
What is a "Frankenswitch"?
A "Frankenswitch" is combining different parts of different switches into one, sort of like a Frankenstein, thus the term "Frankenswitch".
In this context, it uses:
- Kailh Halo True Stems (tactile stem)
- [BSUN] Invyr Panda Housings (linear housing)
What resulted was an extremely crisp and snappy tactile switch.
Making frankenswitches is fun, but at the cost of one's wallet. Recreating a Holy Panda from scratch according to the "original recipe" will cost one around RM10 per switch. Which is why certain popular frankenswitches are re-manufactured as a whole to bring cost down.
Hear the Holy Pandas sing:
With the Invyr Holy Pandas gaining traction in the tactile space, many other manufacturers want a slice of that pie, and began making their own derivative of the Holy Panda.
Although the prices are lower, and the tactility feel is similar, many enthusiasts still prefer the OG Holy Pandas as the materials used in the OG are different and it does sound subjectively better to them. (to us as well)
Not to take anything away from the derivatives, as they provide a cheaper alternative to the OG Holy Pandas, effectively lowering the barrier-to-entry for newcomers, but sometimes you just can't beat the OG.

One of the more popular derivatives of the Holy Panda. The Glorious Pandas uses the same housings and leaf as the original, making it one of the closest and best alternatives.
